The Initial Consultation
The first meeting is an on-site or on-line design consultation to review the project site and establish priorities of needs, goals and concerns.
This initial on-site or in-office appointment provides us with an opportunity to discuss your project. This meeting may involve the review of general or specific design-related needs, goals, or current concerns. This may be a one-time meeting for advice from a professional designer, or the first step of the overall interior design process. During this consultation, the project scope will be established, priorities aligned, and site documentation may occur if required for future work.
New Construction & Multi-Family Homes
We offer consultation, design and decorating services for new construction, model homes, contractor’s sales centers, and club houses.
The initial stages of designing and building a home can be overwhelming. Sometimes professional design advice is needed to guide home buyers and builders through the process. With 12 years of experience in the building and design industry, we will confidently guide you in making decisions for your new home, model home, sales center or club house. We can assist with selections for the interior finish package (ie: flooring, cabinetry, appliance, lighting, or tile selections). We can also accompany you to showrooms to assist in making these selections or select the materials from our in-office Resource Library.
Single Room Design
After reviewing the project scope, we begin to explore the best direction for your space. With a single room design, we will select distinct furnishings and accessories from our carefully curated Design Library, for a flat fee.
Deliverables include two-dimensional floor plans with a furniture layout drawn to scale, an in-office, or on-site design review (remote options available), and images or loaned samples of materials gathered together and presented on a Design Storyboard.
A Design Storyboard includes color images, dimensions, pricing of furnishings & accessories, each individually selected for your room.
Requests of additional items or revisions to the Design Storyboard will be billed hourly. Such revisions will be delivered within two weeks of request.
Single Room Design, $1250
Home Renovation Planning & Documentation
Leslie Thornton is able to provide the drafting and design required to receive a building permit for most interior home renovations. Additional details such custom built-ins and interior trim details are also available. More information is available upon request regarding specific job types.
PRELIMINARY DESIGN
After documenting the existing conditions, schematic design drawings are developed using information gathered from the Initial Design Consultation. These drawings are the beginning of the planning process and will lay the foundation for the project with consideration of aesthetic goals, functionality and budget. The plans may be altered to create your perfect design solution, and will be delivered in hard copy, print or PDF formats.

PRELIMINARY PRICING
At this time, we suggest engaging the service of a licensed construction professional to provide preliminary pricing for the project. The budget, project scope and schedule are determined and agreed upon. While Leslie Thornton Design is not a General Contractor, we have on-going relationships with many construction professionals and will gladly make our best recommendation for your project.
CONSTRUCTION PLANS
After the preliminary design has been reviewed and approved, the final design drawings need to be developed. These drawings convey the information required by local building codes to the General Contractor and Sub-Contractors for building permits and construction. Deliverables typically include a finished floor plan with notes and dimensions, interior elevations indicating millwork details as needed, furniture plans, and/ or electrical plans.

Local Sourcing & Selections
For an hourly fee, a member of our design team can accompany you with the selection of retail furnishings or accessories at local retail stores. Please inquire as related to internet shopping.
Paint Colors
Our designers offer a paint palette that is uniquely selected for your home. Whether painting a complete interior or increasing the curb appeal of the exterior, we can tackle it all. Prices are based on the project type and size.
In-Home Redecorating
A design team will visit your home (or space) to assist with interior accessorizing, picture hanging, furniture placement or rearranging. An hourly rate applies. Materials needed for the service(s) will be provided by Leslie Thornton Design. Additional fees may apply if third party services are needed (ie: movers, installers, etc).
Window Treatment Design & Installation, per window
Price varies based upon size and style of window treatment. From drapery hardware to shades and shutters, we will schedule and coordinate your professional window treatment installation. Other installation services are available, please inquire for more information.
